Youth Organizations & Scout Programs

Cub scouts and parents on bicycles preparing to ride on the Middlesex Greenway

KMM offers educational activities and resources that can help youth learn about walking, biking, transportation and safety while building skills they can use in their everyday lives.

Our programs can be a great fit for summer camps, church and faith-based youth groups, community organizations, after-school programs, recreation programs and other youth-serving organizations.

Bring Transportation Safety to Your Youth Program

KMM can work with your organization to identify activities that fit your group’s age, interests, schedule and goals. Programs may include:

Bicycle & E-Bike Safety
Learn safe riding practices, helmet safety, traffic rules, bicycle checks and the responsible use of e-bikes and other micromobility devices.

Walking & Pedestrian Safety
Teach youth how to safely navigate streets and neighborhoods, identify safe walking routes and become more confident pedestrians.

Transportation & Transit Education
Introduce youth to public transportation, trip planning and the different ways they can get around their community.

Explore Your Community
Provide walking and biking activities, route planning, and walk audits to help youth learn more about the places where they live, learn and play.

Service, Youth Empowerment, & Community Engagement
Connect youth with opportunities to participate in KMM events, peer mentoring programs, transportation safety activities and community service projects.

Programs for Scout Groups

KMM offers educational programs, activities, and volunteer opportunities that can help Cub Scout packs, Girl Scouts, and Scouts BSA troops complete requirements related to bicycle safety, pedestrian safety, transportation, community service, leadership, and healthy living.

Some KMM staff members are current, registered scout leaders and are happy to support scouts working toward badges and higher awards. Whether you’re looking for a speaker, planning a troop activity, organizing a service project, or looking for an opportunity for scouts to volunteer, KMM can create a program that helps scouts connect with their community and complete existing scout badge and award requirements.
